Another card created for a triple challenge, not one of my best I have to say..........I seem to have lost my creative mojo this week!!!

Baby Boom

At work its a baby boom.............another little cherub is due on Friday........hope its a boy as I have this card all ready to go. Inspired by the recycling theme at
Secret Crafter I decided to create my own chipboard letters from the back of an A4 note pad........time consuming but I am pleased with the result. The card is a little basic but I felt anymore detail would clutter the card.

I used the following materials:

Back of a notepad for the homemade chipboard
Blue gingham paper was a free download but I cannot remember where from
Blue & white cardstock
Brads from my stash
Black pen for faux stitching

  • Cricut & Accent Essential cartridge to cut the stars
  • Letraset promarkers to colour
  • Brads from my stash

Snow doggy like Kev doggy

Just wanted to share this piccie of 1 of my 3 dogs Kevin out in the snow yesterday........how cute is he!!!!! Don't be fooled by those Teddy bear looks however as this dog is a menace.....must be the terrier in him......love him with all my heart though.

Valentine Tilda

Please help me .......I had a nightmare colouring in my Tilda for this card, I never had the right watercolours or distress inks so I had to dig out my Letraset Promarkers. Can anyone tell me the best ink to use with these things as both Stazon & versafine smudge even when left over night (you would not believe how many Tilda's got binned last night for smudging or bleeding outside of the lines). I am also looking for a good tutorial for these pens as they all seem to be created around copics - any tips would be fab!!

Anyway, this card was created for 3 challenges, possibly 4, the sketch to follow was from Raspberry Ribbons, the theme over at Caardvarks was hearts & I stumbled across Bitten by the Bug - use the heart from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge on your card.....I hardly use my cricut so I thought I would have a go. Finally I am not sure if the card qualifies for the Arty Girlz challenge which was use red & white (I have green & flesh colors too) but I will enter it anyway!!!
I am not that pleased with this card.....i feel it needs a sentiment but could not get one to look right so i left it off......that space above the hearts just looks a bit bare!!!
I created this card using the following:
  • Pink Tilda with Rose stamp (I know I used it on the card before but i love it)
  • Cricut & Doodlecharms cartridge to cut the hearts
  • Lovely butterfly & white ribbon from Rainbows & Ribbons (oodles of lush ribbon)
  • Letraset Promarkers
  • Cuttlebug & nestie dies to cut the rectangle Tilda is in
  • Papermania red adhesive gems
  • Stampin up corner ticket punch (only available in U.S at the moment)

Triple challenge

Yippee more snow last night, schools are closed again...........another day of crafting to be had.......and a tiny bit of housework!!!
Today I have managed to create a card to satisfy 3 challenges. The designers over at Friday Sketchers have put together a nice simple sketch to follow, the first ever challenge over at Colour create is to create a card using pink, green & brown (ok I got a bit of cream in it to but i checked & so have some of the designers), and finally the Cute card Thursday designers have set the challenge 'Metallica'.......use metal on your card.....I have used brads & a metal heart frame to satisfy that one.
I created the card using the following materials:
  • Paper: Cream & brown cardstock from my stash & Laura Ashley Contemporary papers from 6x6 paper pack
  • Stamp: Magnolia Pink Tilda with rose
  • Sentiment - Pink Petticoat download Tiny tags
  • Brown & lace ribbon (from my local craft shop Rainbows)
  • Tim Holtz distress inks & Lyra aquacolours to paint Tilda
  • Cricut Expression & Plantin schoolbook cartridge to cut the ovals
  • Doodlebug brown brads & prima flowers
  • Making memories tag maker & heart tag

Hope you like my card, please feel free to leave a comment - it makes my day. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Basic Grey challenge #20 - Follow the sketch

I am so pleased with myself as I have entered another challenge.......only my second.........think I have been bitten by the challenge bug!!!!

This one is Follow the sketch over at Basic Grey , you create a card based on the lovely sketch provided as long as you use at least one basic grey item. I changed the position of the sentiment as it said that this was optional........hope you are allowed to do that!!!

  • I have used the non patterned side of a Basic Grey paper called Jolly from the Figgy Pudding collection, the other 2 papers i used are from the Black Market paper society called Lucky in Love.

  • Stamp - Tilda wearing floral head wreath

  • Sentiment - from Hero Arts Birthday set

  • Tilda was coloured with Lyra Aquacolours & distress inks

  • Photo corners cut with a sizzix die using my cuttlebug

Secret Crafter & One stop craft challenge

Yay, I'm an auntie again..........last night my sister in Law had a bouncing baby boy 'Daniel William'............a great excuse to lock myself away in my craft room & make a baby card!!!! I thought i could kill three birds with one stone as the challenge over at Secret crafter is a zoo theme & the one stop craft challenge is to create a project using bows or buttons.......i opted for bows!!!
For the Zoo bit, I had an unused sizzix giraffe die screaming to be used for the first time (I have only had it about 6 months).......criminal I know but the story of most of my crafty bits i'm afraid, although I intend to change that by taking part in as many challenges as I can......these being the first!!!!

The paper I used for this card is from the Forever Friends Hugs & cuddles paper pack & the sentiment is from a DCWV baby scrapbook in a stack.
