Simon Says Stamp

Hiya bloggers, hope you are all nearly ready for Santa coming, I have finished all my cards and posted them out, I had to miss a few people out due to lack of time and for that I am sorry..........I am going to try and be more organised next year, hopefully things will be a little better for us in 2010.

Anyway I am hoping it is safe to post this card now as it should have arrived safely in Scotland as it is for my wonderful in-laws......................however, I rushed to finish this card that I have had sat half made for a week, popped it in the envelope and took it to the post office and waved goodbye to it..................I then realised that I had forgotten to write in it..........Doh!!!! I am so losing my marbles........i was rushing to get out the door on Saturday morning though in the midst of our heating breaking down and a million and one errands to run.......LOL...........good job my in-laws know what I am like................some would take offence to that, but that's just little old me.....He He!!!!

All of the supplies used on this Easel card are Magnolia apart from the Merry Christmas sentiment which is a Penny Black and the flower, fronds and brads are from my stash. Sweet Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers, I hope my in-laws like it.

I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which this week is 'Merry christmas'

Wishing you all a great christmas & New year

Hugs

Passion for Promarkers Mega challenge

Happy Tuesday bloggers, sorry I have been a lazy blogger but I have been mega busy and my mojo has been awol........how rude at this time of year with all these cards to make!!!! I am nowhere near finishing them and I have to say I have bought a box from Sainsbury's......I know, I know, hopefully I can make a few next week as I finish work until New Years Eve on Friday....woo hoo....anyway it's time to reveal our second batch of 'anything but a card' items for the Passion for Promarkers Mega challenge.

I have had this chocolate box under construction since I knew we were doing 3D items, but it has taken me ages to finish, I spent all day Sunday faffing with it, I had to change the measurements to fit my A4 card, or should I say hubby has.......I found the tutorial on Kirsten's blog, she has some fab examples.......hubby has converted the inches to cm's, here they are if anyone wants them, hope you find them useful, you will need to refer to Kirsten's blog for the main tutorial, then these measurements should make sense!!!!

The main cardboard lid and base 14.5cm x 14.5cm

Drawers 10cm x 13cm, scored on short side at 2.5cm & 7.5cm and long side at 2.5cm & 10.5cm

Drawer surrounds 8.0cm x 18cm, scored at 2.6cm, 7.8cm, 10.4cm & 15.5cm

The card on top measures 14.5 x 14.5cm

I found the tutorial on Kirsten's blog, she has some fab examples, you can just decorate the top of the box or have a card type arrangement on the top of it, I choose the card/box option as I am sending this to my big sis as her christmas card, the pic below shows half of the inside of the card on top of the box, the verse is by Magnolia & holly has been created with my Martha Stewart punch.

There are four drawers in the box that open that you can put things in, I am going to put chocolates in for my big sis. The little handles are Tim Holtz hitch fastners (got mine on e-bay) & the stamp is Wee with Reindeer by WOJ, coloured with the following Promarkers:

Pine, Blush, Denim blue, Powder blue, Salmon pink, Sunkissed pink, Pastel pink, sandstone, lipstick red, tan, caramel, cocoa & Umber

All of the papers used are from a 6x6 book called Webster's pages - Holiday collection combo pack, I got them from a craft show and I am sure I got them from a company called Oyster stamps the papers are fab for the inside of cards as well as the outsides!!!

The sentiment is Santa is coming to Town by Magnolia & that Stampin up ribbon bow unties to reveal the inside of the card

Hope you like it, it sure is really sturdy and quite heavy, hope my big sis likes it!!!!

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.
