For my mum

Hi Bloggers, long time no blog!!

I have been AWOL for months, been really busy with work and life in generally, not had a lot of time for crafting of late and my Mojo has been non - existent.

Anyway, my sister has asked me to make her a card for her to give our mum for her birthday on Saturday (It's OK, she does not look at my blog), birds or butterflies was the theme so I could not resist using the Tim Holtz Birdcage die!! Gotta say, I am so pleased I got this die, it is so beautiful, I cut mine out of grungeboard and some really old DSP I bought when I first started crafting, not sure who the manufacturer is, it was a cheap deal if i remember rightly!! I overstamped the DSP on the Birdcage with Sanded background stamp by Stampin Up, love this stamp, such a must have!

The sentiment frame is also a Tim holtz die cut that comes with a tag, love it!! The mum sentiment is from a Waltzing mouse set, Roses in Bloom.

I am entering my card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which this week is anything goes. I am hoping to start entering challenges again, I do miss it.

Anyway, I hope you like the card, thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.

Goodbye sweet Will

RIP Will, i miss your cuddles already.x

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long, I really am finding it difficult to get any time to blog, make cards or even blog hop!!

Life is just so hectic for us lately and this week has been a tough one as on Monday evening we had to have our wonderful dog Will put to sleep unexpectedly. He was approx 15 years old, he was a rescue dog so his age was a guess, he had a long life but it still does not make it any easier. He was OK before I left for work on the morning, fighting his way through the younger ones in for his breakfast but when I got home and went to feed him he never came running into the kitchen as usual, he could not stand, his back legs would not let him, his breathing was very laboured and he was not the slightest bit interested in his food. He just lay down on the floor and I somehow knew that this was the end for him and I broke my heart there and then!!

We got an emergency appointment at the vet who told us that Will possibly had a tumour on his liver, he was retaining a lot of fluid and his breathing was difficult as a result, the vet said that Will was really struggling and had given up!! He was just lying on the vet table, no fight to keep him there like we usually have!! There was nothing that could be done and the kindest thing was to say goodbye to our wonderful companion and I think between myself, hubby and our son, we flooded the consultation room with tears whilst we said our goodbyes, the Vet was really patient with us.

We held him as he was put to sleep and out of pain, it was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life!!

Will was a fantastic dog, great with kids, very loving, always comforted me when I was sad, he bought us and many of our family and friends so much joy..........and destruction when he was younger but he was worth it, such a trusting soul considering he was a rescue and we will never forget him.

The strange thing was that the night he died........Mon 13th of June was my late fathers Birthday, I like to think my dad has him up in heaven, it helps me to deal with the loss......coincidence maybe but I like to think they are looking after each other now.

I hope to get back to blogging soon.x

Passion for Promarkers

Hi bloggers, hope you are all well!!

Welcome to another Passion for Promarkers challenge and this week we want to see 2 of something on your creations!!

I have used 2 stamps on my creation and i thought the theme of wedding 'two become one' was also quite apt for the theme!!

I used old Stampendous stamps that I have never used before, I am trying to use all my stamps at least once......I am not doing too well, I buy them faster than I use them and I just can't seem to stop!!!

The DSP is from a wedding themed making memories paper pack I got from Hobbycraft last year, I think it is still available.

I coloured the happy couple in Promarkers and dabbed some stickles on the brides dress, every bride needs a bit of bling right???

Hope you like my card, pop over to the PFP blog as team 1 and team 2 have joined forces this week and there are some stunning samples for your inspiration!!

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.

Passion for Promarkers - For a Teenager

Howdy bloggers, I'm back at last!!!

Florida was fab and super hot and yes I found craft shops thanks to the lovely girls on Splitcoaststampers pointing me in the right direction. Hubby spoiled me rotten as usual and I came back with lots of copics, scrapbook papers, dies, embellishments and lots of stamps, I managed to get to Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Jo-annes, I would have loved to have gone to a dedicated stamping shop but I think I may have been pushing my luck......LOL
I just need to find the time to use it all now!!!

Anyway, this week over at Passion for Promarkers we want to see the theme 'For a Teenager'. I dusted off an old greeting farm stamp 'Edward', (in stock here) I forgot how much fun these guys are, I must ink up the others!!!

I teamed Edward up with some papers from my Basic Grey 'Oliver' pad, available here and coloured him in the following Promarkers:

Cool grey, 1, 3, 4, 5, warm grey 5, dusky pink, blush, pastel pink, sandstone, Ivory, Burgundy, crimson and my trusty blender, all the Promarkers I have used are in stock here

I kept the card simple, the sentiment is from the Free spirit sentiments set by Waltzing Mouse stamps, such a versatile set of sentiments!!! I added a some wonky stitching the the card to add interest.....LOL, I don't think I will ever master the sewing machine, it seems to have a mind of its own!!!

Hope you can join us this week

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.

Passion for Promarkers - WOW

Hi bloggers, this is a scheduled post as I am still in Florida, hopefully enjoying the sunshine and spending quality time with my family and friends, (hope I have found the craft shops by now :0)

I had to make this card well in advance..........I don't do advance......I am a last minute.com kind of gal, this is a first for me....LOL

Anyway, this week at Passion for Promarkers the challenge is WOW (White on white), hope i got it right as I have never made a WOW card before!!!

My big sis asked me to make a baby card for a friend who has just had a baby girl on her last IVF attempt, I turned to this adorable Penny black stamp, 'Baby Hammock' that I have to tell you is the second time I have used this stamp..........that is a record for me....LOL, it makes such cute baby cards, well worth having in your stamp collection!!

I coloured Baby Hammock in the following Promarkers:

Lemon, Sunflower, cerise, pale pink, dusky pink, pastel pink, china blue, cinnamon, tan, cool grey 1, warm grey 3 and pastel blue, leaf green, forest green and blender

The border around the card was created with my Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch and I used the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for the embossed panel. The circle I stamped my image on and the frame around it are a Marianne design creatables set I got from Stampeezee, I love this set!!!

The ribbon is Seam Binding from Stampeezee, available here

I hope you like my card and would love you to leave a comment, I will visit you back when I return from my hols, no internet for me in Florida, hubby has banned it....LOL

Hugs
