Happy Birthday Barry 'The Bear' Kempton

Hiya bloggers, what a week this has been, so glad it's the weekend!!!! Another different type of card from me, tomorrow is my friend Barry's birthday and he just loves bears..............in fact if he existed in another life form before this life then he was a bear as his stature resembles that of a bear stood on its hind legs.

I needed a Bear image for his card & my Canadian friend Diana came to the rescue with this Bear from Stampin Up's Wildlife Reserve Set (not available in the UK), I had a nose on splitcoast and found this card from which I took my inspiration.
Align Centre

The Bear is stamped in Black Ink & mounted onto Black (yes I know it looks brown, camera is telling lies) and Kraft cardstock. I used my SU corner ticket punch to snip the corners of the middle panel away and my houndstooth embossing folder on the background, I added some silver brads & twine & hey presto.

This card looks so much better IRL honest, I hope Barry likes it!!!!

Have a great weekend, I am having my hair done tomorrow, highlights and a cut...........I hate it........I could be doing so many other things whilst sat in that place but I cannot leave it no longer, people are starting to comment about the amount of roots I have showing............I have been shamed into it....LOL

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.

Hugs

Sarah

  1. Hi ya hunny!

Lovely card, I'm sure your friend Barry will love it. Nice image.

Don't talk to me about roots! I left it too long to book in 'cos I spent my hair money on new craft stash and now my hairdresser is booked up. Arrragh!

Will be lovely to see you tomorrow.

  2. Hi Sarah, your card is fab, perfect for your friend, very manly and love the way the bear is not coloured. Don't talk about hairdressers, I went the other day to get a dry cut at a girl who cuts from home. I was there an hour and three quarters!!! a dry cut, can you believe it, she definitely cannot multi task lol. Have a nice weekend.

  9. Hi Sarah!
Another fab card! Men are so difficult to make cards for so it is good to have a focus! I like the way that you have wrapped the thread at the back of the image! Must give that a go!
