Just Magnolia challenge #1 & CCT #56

I am so excited about this post as it is my entry to the first ever Magnolia only challenge, if you have been following my blog you will have probably noticed that I am a big fan of Magnolia stamps (funny as i never liked them to begin with) so this challenge blog is the best news ever. The design team are fantastic, nearly all my favourites in 1 place!!!

Anyway, the first challenge was a sketch by Donalda, I love Donalda's sketches and this one is amazing. I have got to say I am really please with how this card came out, the colour scheme was dictated by my new prima hydrangeas i got from Stampaholics in Perth, Scotland (fab shop) and whilst I was there I picked up a Basic Grey Wisteria paper pad which co-ordinates perfectly with them. You can then always rely on Stampin Up to have a cardstock in the right colour, with matching ribbon and ink, how did I ever live without stampin up!!!).

I am also entering my prize blooms into the cute card Thursday challenge which is a flower theme (my second entry)

Card Recipe:

  • Stamp: Tilda with Lamb
  • Sentiment: from Very Versatile by Stampin Up (mini catalogue)
  • Cardstock: Stampin up Elegant Eggplant
  • Ribbon: Stampin Up grosgrain 1/4" Elegant Eggplant
  • DP: Basic Grey Wisteria
  • Accesories: Prima Hydrangea's decorated with crystal stickers pearles
  • Tools: nestie dies for layering
  • Colouring medium: Letraset Promarkers, white ink essentials pen to highlight

Thank you for visiting my blog, please leave a comment as you pass through as I love reading them.

Phew, just in time .com with this one for the Stamp with Us challenge 2, this week was a birthday them so anything goes as long as it is birthday related and uses at least one SU product. The card was inspired by the one I made at Helen's (previous post). The card also qualifies for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday as the theme this week is Flowers.

Sentiment: SU Sincere Salutations
Cardstock: SU whisper white, Yoyo yellow, Almost Amethyst & Pretty in Pink
DP: SU Tea Party series (mini catalogue)
Ribbon: SU Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain
Tools: Oval & Scalloped oval punches (mini catalogue)

Crafting fun with a friend

On my new journey with Stampin Up I have already met lots of lovely people, one of which is Helen, a fellow demo fairly local to where I live. Last night i was invited to take part in one of the classes she runs, we had a great time crafting, here are the the items I made in the class:

Mini gift box

Helen took this idea from Splitcoast stampers, when I find the link I will post it here, it is such an adorable little box that you could make in any size. After we had all finished our boxes, Helen filled them with sweeties for us.......yummy.
Bambi Card

I had made this exact card before at Stampin up field training but could not resist having another go, the little bambi image is so adorable and the technique used to create the reflection is such a clever idea.
Playful Petals Thank you
This card was fun to do and i think it looks very effective, the playful petals set is perfect for decoupage, a very veratile set to have in your craft stash.
If you live in the Birmingham area near Castle Bromwich and are looking for a card class Helen would be pleased to hear from you. Why not hop over to her blog, you can find it here
